“We wanted the orchard to feel familiar, not staged. Even when the rain arrived, we never felt pulled out of the day or away from our people.”

Eve and Rowan brought eighteen guests by ferry to a small inn on Penobscot Bay. The ceremony took place at the edge of the lawn while fishing boats crossed the harbor and fog moved slowly between the islands. Dinner was served inside at one table with bowls of garden flowers, warm bread, and windows left open to the water. The next morning, everyone met on the dock for coffee before the ferry arrived.
